Travel: Our Paris Apartment in Montmartre

 photo parisflat1.jpg photo parisdayone.jpg photo parisflat2.jpg photo parisday1.jpg photo parisflat3.jpg photo parisdayone1.jpg photo parisflat.jpg
I arrived Friday afternoon in Paris and I`ll be staying here till Monday evening. Initially I was planning of making a post with kinda all the things I`ve been doing in this first day here but then I realized I`ve taken so many shots of this cute apartment in Montmartre where we`re staying at that I decided to just dedicate a whole post to it :). The flat is very Parisian chic and I love the attention to detail the owner put into decorating it- all the flowers and small butterflies here and there, even the insides of the fridge looked picture worthy! Everything looks very welcoming and charming which makes it even harder to get out of the house when you`re feeling lazy.

Anyway, this is my first time in Paris, do you have any tips of things to do (especially anything related to eating or shopping)?

London: Dior Exhibition at Harrods

On Sunday I went to see the Dior Exhibition at Harrods that has already been open to the public for a few days and will run till 14 April. The exhibition celebrates the longstanding relationship between the British luxury department store and the historic French fashion house. Which shows that the British and French really do get along :).
The pieces displayed include some of the early works of Christian Dior but also a few of the recent pieces of Raf Simons.

This is probably the most beautiful dress I have ever seen and is a creation of Raf Simons. The dress took approximatively 900 hours to make and is composed of hundreds of tiny silk mousseline flowers.

Inside this booth you can feel the Miss Dior perfume while watching Natalie Portman`s commercial for the brand on small screens all over the walls.

Another gorgeous dress by Christian Dior that was worn by Audrey Hepburn in 1956 for Harper`s Bazaar. As you can see, the waist of this dress was very tiny!

I`m sure most of you recognise this gown as it`s the one worn by Charlize Theron in the J`adore perfume tv advert.

Excluding the designs, I must say I actually enjoyed this exhibition more than the Valentino one  as I thought they put more thought into making it more exciting and visually appealing. Everywhere there were small Dior treasures such as a gigantic Dior handbag and an installation that imitated the first Dior shop, also there is staff everywhere ready to give you more details about each piece. So if you are in or around London you should definitely check it out!

Today`s Outfit: Aztec Denim Shorts

 photo aztecdenimshorts.jpg photo aztecdenimshorts3.jpg photo aztecdenimshorts5.jpg photo aztecdenimshorts1.jpg
(Mango yellow jumper, Mary Jane Fashion aztec printed denim shorts, Pull & Bear black coat)

Although it`s almost the end of March the weather has been pretty horrible and it doesn`t really show any signs of improvement. This shorts make me think of summer, festivals, and nights spent on the beach with no worries in the world. Kinda the life I wish I had right now.
Speaking of festivals, there are some cool ones going on this summer: Reading Festival, V Festival, Glastonbury (although I`ve heard the tickets are already sold out for this one?). I`m finding it hard to choose one especially since if you actually plan on going to a music event in the UK you have to prepare yourself mentally and physically that you`ll be covered in mud for the whole time.

Are you guys going to any concerts this summer?

Today`s Outfit: The Midi Skirt

 photo midiskirt.jpg photo midiskirt1.jpg photo midiskirt2.jpg photo midiskirt5.jpg photo midiskirt8.jpg photo midiskirt9.jpg
(Miss Selfridge black leather jacket, Forever 21 jumper, Asos brown midi skirt, Zara black slingback heels)

I always thought I`m too short for midi or long skirts. But with the right heels anything is possible! From Celine to Moschino Cheap and Chic, the midi skirt was a favourite on the fall 2013 catwalk. And what`s not to love? It`s very 50s classy and you can easily take it from day to night.

Anyway, how was your weekend? I`ve been very lazy and mostly stayed at home, taking continuous naps. I blame the bad weather. At least I managed to drag myself to the gym on Saturday for some exercise and now every inch of my body is hurting :). Typical.

Guest Post: Give Your Mum the Perfect Mother’s Day

Your mum has been there for you every day of your life so far, and will continue to be for as long as she can. Reverse the roles for one day and surprise her with the perfect Mother’s Day from dawn till dusk.

Champagne Breakfast

How many times has mum made you breakfast? Return the favour and whisk her away for a very special champagne breakfast on Mothering Sunday morning. Alternatively, bring the champagne breakfast to mum – start with melon, granola or yogurt, move on to a full English or Eggs Benedict, finish with sweet pancakes and wash it down with something sparkly (and perhaps a splash of orange juice if required!).

The Perfect Gift

Over breakfast, surprise your mum with the perfect gift to show her what she means to you. Sterling silver charm bracelets are a great choice as a simple starter bracelet can be personalised with charms to suit your mum’s uniqueness. If you have siblings, why not choose a charm each, so your mum has an individual token of affection from each of her sons or daughters?

Family Photo

Mother’s Day isn’t just about your mum – it’s also about her mum and the other women in the family. Once you’ve given mum a morning to remember, share her with the rest of your loved ones and get the whole family together. Commemorate the occasion with a family snapshot that you can frame for your mum to treasure.

A Countryside Walk

In the afternoon, why not head out en-mass for a countryside walk? Spring will just be peeking out, so take advantage of the milder weather and the pretty spring blooms with a stroll out somewhere lovely. A nearby country park, coastal path or woodland trail would fit the bill perfectly. Alternatively, if your mum’s idea of exercise is a stroll around the nearest shopping centre, why not treat her to a spot of retail therapy? Some department stores even offer personal shopping experiences to really make mum feel special for the day.

Dinner for Ten

Get the whole family together for a big Mother’s Day dinner, and surround your mum with those she loves and who love her back. Whether you go out to a fancy restaurant or enjoy a roast at home doesn’t matter – all that matters is that mum can enjoy time with her loved ones over a delicious meal - one that someone else has cooked! Mother’s Day offers the perfect opportunity to put your mum first and treat her to a lovely day to remember.
