When I was in school I used to hate Sundays probably more than Mondays. It was all the anticipation knowing that I have to wake up at 6 am again to go to school. Now things have changed and I actually love the quietness of the streets on Sundays and the lazy vibe in the air. On such a lazy day we went for brunch on the 40th floor of Heron Tower at Duck & Waffle. I must admit I had an ulterior motive for choosing this place as I have wanted to try their famous dossants (a heavenly mix between croissants & doughnuts) for quiet a while. They started making them 11 am and by the time we got there at 11:30 they were sold out! The only thing that kept me from rolling on the floor and crying for a doughnut (I like dramatic endings) was that the rest of their brunch was pretty good as well.
The view wasn`t bad either as we got the chance to sit next to the window.
I ordered the duck egg en cocotte with mushroom and truffle which was absolutely amazing especially if you love cheesy stuff like me. My boyfriend had the full English breakfast which is a bit of a typical choice but he seemed pleased with it. Then again, what man is not pleased with a full English breakfast?
And of course, you can`t brunch without a cup of English breakfast tea.
I was wearing a very preppy outfit that I thought went well with the occasion: Asos shirt, vintage cardigan, French Connection ivory skirt, and Asos loafers.
Do you brunch? If yes, what`s your favourite place?
oh, delicious!

ReplyDeleteHi Alina! I love brunches and sundays as well. I cannot understand why people don't like sundays! It is the true rest day :) regarding spots I can only give you tips here in Lisbon (have you come?) and NY.

I actually think I've heard of this place via Park & Cube. And I love the photos. But I hate that I can't eat gluten when I see them :P
