New Year Beauty Buys

At the start of every new year I usually do a beauty update and stock on favourites and some new ones. It`s a great time to invest in good products as many brands usually have sales this time of year as well as gift packs which means you get more for less.
Some of the below products I brought home from Thailand such as Skin Food and SK-II and the rest I purchased here in London.

Skincare and hair care

In Bangkok I finally managed to get my hands on some Skin Food goodies which I`ve been wanting to try out for quite a while and I must say I absolutely love them! They not only smell delicious but are also very good. I love the gold caviar and collagen leave in mask which I put on every night before bed, as well as the seaweed mask which I use during weekends and is great for sensitive and dry skin.
The argan oil hair mask has now become one of my favourite hair products ever. It smells heavenly and true to its name it leaves your hair incredibly smooth and silky.
I also invested in some SK-II products probably because my birthday was coming up and I suddenly felt the fear of "ageing". I haven`t got to try yet the facial treatment mask but I`m already in love with the facial treatment essence and clear lotion. If you have sensitive skin and you`re prone to blemishes these will really help you diminish the redness.

Makeup

In terms of makeup I finally got myself an eyebrow pencil from Lancome and the famous Shu Uemura eyelash curler. My new obsession at the moment is dewy makeup so I bought a few products to help me achieve that look. In the mornings I`ve been mixing up Guerlain Meteorites Perles primer with my Clinique moisturizer (not pictured) before putting on my foundation. Afterwards I`ll apply the Soleil Tan de Chanel illuminator which is absolutely amazing and my favourite out of the bunch, brush off a bit of Guerlain Terracotta bronzer (not pictured) before finishing it off with a dust of MAC Skinfinish powder.
The Dior 5 couleurs eyeshadow palette feels very luxurious and has some beautiful colour combinations. The Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte lipstick in "Lingerie Pink" and the Jo Malone perfume have now become two of my everyday staples.

One of my main beauty resolutions for this year is not to get hyped anymore by what magazines or other type of media frequently promotes and rather do a bit more research and find out what really works for my skin. Last year I purchased a lot of products that were extremely advertised everywhere as being amazing and in reality I found many of them quite disappointing and definitely not worth the splurge.

What`s on your beauty wish list this year?

  1. I have never heard of this product... it looks lovely... I have been guilty of buying a product that was hyped to only be disappointed... I try to research as well :)
