Travel in Style: The Peninsula Bangkok Hotel Review

The Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok was our home for our first few days in Bangkok before we left for the islands and it was nothing short of amazing. In fact it was so amazing that my boyfriend had to basically drag me out of the room when we left. The service was exceptional, as well as the facilities and the overall atmosphere of the place. The location of the hotel is near the river which means is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city which, if you`re looking for a more tranquil oasis then this is definitely the place for you.

1. The pool, garden, & surroundings (16/20)

The pool is beautiful designed, with a great view of the river, although it`s mostly made for quick dips rather than laps. Although there was a jacuzzi at one of the ends, the rest of the pool`s water temperature was always slightly too cold which made it quite difficult to spend too much time inside.

The hotel also provided a complimentary boat transfer to the other side of the river which made it easier for getting around.

2. The breakfast & other dining options (17/20)

Each morning we had our breakfast alongside the river in this beautiful setting. Most often we will return for lunch as well although it does tend to get a bit louder due to the river boats so it`s not as peaceful as it is in the morning.

For breakfast the quality of the food was great, however there wasn`t as much variety of hot dishes (and pastries) as I would liked. What can I say, I love my pastries!

3. The room (18/20)

The room we stayed in was I think the double deluxe which was beautiful and had a gorgeous view of the city. The only thing that my boyfriend found a bit annoying is that the air conditioning wasn`t stabilising the room temperature and it always kept getting cooler and cooler at night.

The beautiful bathroom. I loved the fact that it had two sinks, a tv attached to the bathtub, and Oscar de la Renta toiletries.
