The Stylish Phuket Travel Guide

stylish phuket travel guide
Where to stay:
avista hideaway resort and spa
  • We stayed at the Avista Hideaway Resort & Spa which was slightly further from the hustle and bustle of the Patong beach but still just a 7 minutes taxi ride till the city centre or you can grab the free shuttle bus provided by the hotel. The resort is pretty new so there are still stuff that aren`t yet there like there is only 1 restaurant in the resort but overall we had a good experience here.
  • Phuket definitely doesn`t lack in luxury resorts, a few other known ones are: Trisara, Anantara, Banyan Tree, etc.
Restaurants & bars:
raya phuket
  • Food in Phuket is not as good as it is in Bangkok with most of the restaurants along the beaches being pretty average but good enough to satisfy your hunger after a long morning of swimming. Your best chance of finding really good quality food in Phuket is to get away from the main tourist area and take a stroll through Phuket Town. We had there the best lunch of our Phuket trip at Raya restaurant. Small tip: try the spicy duck salad and the crab curry, they`re pretty freaking awesome!raya phuket
  • The best Chinese food in Phuket we had at MK Gold which I think is a chain but the quality is pretty good. It was there that I developed my new obsession with crispy pork and dry noodles. Yum!
Things to do:
paradise beach phuket
kata viewpoint
  • Mornings at the beach and afternoons catching the sunset from one of the wonderful viewpoints Phuket has to offer. Our favourite beach was Paradise Beach which is literally paradise on earth but you need to get there quite early (as in 9am) otherwise it gets really busy. Kata Noi beach is another wonderful beach, also more chilled out, and you have the Kata viewpoint a short minutes away for catching the sunset.
  • Phuket town- we hired a car with a chauffeur (very affordable) and definitely worth it as you get to see much more of Phuket than just the surroundings of your resort without the stress of driving. We started our day by visiting the Baan Chinpracha house in Phuket town, then off for lunch at Raya, followed by a trip to Kata Noi beach for a swim, catching the sunset at Kata viewpoint and ending the day with a few drinks at a bar near by.
phi phi speedboat trip
  • Phi Phi islands trip- we went with Offspray Leisure and I couldn`t recommend them enough! Everything from the boat, to the staff to the food was amazing and the highlight of our trip. They are slightly more expensive than the regular speedboat trips but it`s so worth it if you don`t wanna squeeze for the whole day with 30 other people which I can`t imagine being so relaxing.
  • Beauty therapy- massages, manicures, pedicures, Thailand is the perfect place to get pampered. We got around 4 massages each and I regret not having more.
  • Thai cooking classes- this is something we didn`t actually get time to do but really wanted to as I`ve heard many good reviews. Imagine being able to make one of those delicious Thai curries at home?!
