Super excited to be spending winter holidays in Australia and Singapore. We will be first flying to Perth, then Sydney and then have a few days stopover in Singapore on our way back.
This will be my first time in Australia & Singapore so let me know if you have any tips of things to see, do in any of these places :).

G'Day from Australia! (Wow that was so corny) I hope you have an amazing time. Two pieces of advice for you; number one, come to Melbourne! We have the cutest laneways and the best coffee! Number two, dress appropriately for a hot Aussie Summer! Especially in Perth. I hope you have a great time and enjoy the shopping in Singapore too
ReplyDeletehahah, thank you! Melbourne sounds amazing, I might take a weekend trip to Melbourne as well if time allows, the food there sounds amazing! xx
DeleteHi there! You are very lucky to escape winter! A couple of suggestions:
ReplyDeleteTake 50 SPF sunscreen and a good broad brimmed hat - that sun is hot. SPF treated tees and light skirts are a good idea, too.
If you love good wine, go south from Perth to Margaret River. There are some fantastic wineries there.
I agree with the previous blog comment - go to Melbourne if you can. It has a great nightlife and shops. You can find some interesting Aussie designers there and in Sydney.
Brisbane is very laid back and close to both the Gold Coast and Surfer's Paradise. Both aptly named.
Singapore has a wonderful Botanical Garden - the most Amazing orchids I've ever seen. Have a cocktail in Raffles Hotel - the home of the Singapore Sling :-)
The street food in Singapore is better than anywhere else in the world (isn't that a provocative statement :-) ). But seriously, it is really worth trying. It also has a great 'Little India' area. And, of course you have to go to Ku De Ta - the amazing rooftop bar at the Marina Bay Sands.
I hope you have an amazing time!
thank you Kristen for your tips! Margaret River definitely sounds like my kind of place :). Can`t wait to try the street food in Singapore, I love Asian flavours xx
DeleteSo jealous! Hope you have an amazing time!

thank you Krista! xx
DeleteI agree with the above statements about sunblock! I live in Perth and recommend the sites http://weloveperth.net.au http://www.urbanwalkabout.com/perth/ and http://greataboutperth.com for having a look at what things are on and cool places to go.
ReplyDeleteDepending on the time, fringe festival may be on which is always fun! Friday nights there are hawkers markets in forrest place and I also recommend checking out the rooftop cinema and Toastface Grillah. There are loads of things going on and lots of lovely cafes and places to shop. Perth is a really fun city, especially when you know where to go :) I hope you have a lovely time.

If you get the chance go to Cairns - Green Island. It is a great place to snorkel the great barrier reef! Its really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou have to visit Port Douglas, near Cairns and all that surrounding area (Daintree rain forest, Great Barrier reef etc.), I traveled up the east of the country few years ago and by far Port Douglas was my favorite :D Enjoy, so jealous
