The Portman Restaurant Review

Last week we headed over for dinner at The Portman located right in the centre of the London in Marylebone, making it perfect for after shopping dinner. The entrance looks like your regular pub but don't be deterred as the restaurant space above is quite cosy and elegant. The highlight of the evening was the amazingly delicious dessert for which I would go back anytime. 
For starers we had the spaghettini of crab & clams which was pretty good but perhaps not the best one I ever had.  Although I would have to go to Sicily in Taormina for that! It needed some more wine or garlic to bring the dish together.

The lobster and the langoustines were very fresh and nice to eat something fresh and light when going out. We also had the cote de boeuf with fries (not pictured) which was beautifully cooked and the fries were fantastic.

the portman restaurantThe boy had the cheese course instead of dessert but the real star of the meal was the plum tart tatin. The mix between the tartness of the plums and the sweetness from the sugar and the ice cream made this dish the highlight of the dinner. And just look how pretty it is!
