Florence Travel Photo Diary

Just came back from a wonderful weekend in Florence and these are a few photos from my trip. We had a bit of bad luck getting there as we were meant to fly on Friday afternoon but due to airport strikes in Italy our flight got cancelled till Saturday morning. I was mainly upset for missing a dinner and a breakfast as I heard so much about the food in Florence I was eager to get there to start eating! And as you can imagine the first thing we did when we landed is to head to a restaurant for lunch. Forget about check-in first, leaving our bags, showering, nope, our priority was to make sure we get in time for lunch. I`m fortunate that my boyfriend loves Italian food as much as I do otherwise I don`t know what I`ll do! :)
But even if you`re not so much of a foodie, Florence has a lot to offer. The architecture is beautiful, the shopping is amazing, and the city is quite small which means you can easily get around just by walking. We didn`t get to explore the Tuscan countryside unfortunately due to lack of time but I`m definitely looking forward to go back and maybe do a road trip.

  3. I'd agree my first order of business would be to get a great lunch! And if you do make it back to Florence, day trips to Tuscany, particularly Chianti are so easy and worth the time. Lovely photos and wishing for that gelato right about now!

  6. Beautiful photos, Florence looks like a lovely place! I hate it when travel plans get cancelled due to strikes, it's so unfair and inconsiderate to the travellers! I had to waste a day of my last vacation stuck in car because of a train strike in France :(

    1. thanks Maria! I know, it`s particularly disappointing if you`re only there for a short period of time as it feels you lose precious time that you could spend exploring :) xx
