  • The Savoy in Florence has beautiful service as well as a great location within walking distance from all the main attractions and restaurants.

  • For cheap as sticks and delicious pizza head to the famous Gusta Pizza
  • La Bottega del Buon Caffe for Michelin star Italian food

  • Il Latini - good and affordable food
  • Lungarno Bistrot for a more upscale option in a lovely, romantic setting
  • Trattoria Sostanza, Trattoria da Tito for no fuss, great food
  • For a good wine bar head to Pitti Gola e Cantina - the wines are amazing and so is the food

Things to do
  • Visit some of Florence`s impressive landmarks such as the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio

  • Get a view over the city from Giotto`s Tower
  • Take a road trip through the Tuscan countryside for beautiful views
  • Have a nice picnic at Boboli Gardens
  • Visit the impressive Uffizi museum. Tip: it`s recommended to buy tickets a few days ahead of time as the queues can be very long.
  • Shopping - the streets around Piazza de la Repubblica are filled with luxurious shops from Prada to Chanel and Gucci
  • There is also a Gucci museum nearby, however I didn`t get the chance to personally visit it 
  • Overall there are loads of historical landmarks around every street corner so best is to just take a map and walk around and visit the ones that interest you.

  2. I've only ever been to Florence on a day-trip, so really want to return for a longer stay. The Savoy looks lovely!
